University of Oxford - Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU)

Grade 4: Salary £19,743 - £22,879 p.a.

CTSU is one of the world's leading centres for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as heart, renal disease and cancer. We have several large scale studies and clinical trials that involve large numbers of blood samples.

The CTSU Wolfson laboratories are an accredited laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025:2005) with a critical role in receiving, processing and providing long-term storage of these samples. In addition, the laboratory has considerable expertise in developing reliable high-throughput methods for blood analysis using state-of-the-art technologies and extensive computer automation.New Medical Vacant Careers & Jobs 2010

You will assist with the day-to-day requirements of the laboratory, including working in the specimen reception and storage areas, assisting with analyses and the assessment of new techniques. You should have proven skills or experience equivalent to a good science degree in biochemistry, clinical chemistry or equivalent and experience of clinical laboratory work and biochemical techniques.
